RIP Icy Hawt, welcome to The Late Nite News
Sneaky Noob, back from a long sabbatical, is now penning the journal for the new Late Nite Alliance.  Keep track of the antics and drama that is Late Nite there!  Read it NOW! (Note:  HUANG elected not to join the alliance, due to its increasingly piratical nature)

Just a T3 sort of Eve-ning...
Made it into pod last night, and it was still slooowwww.  Bahamut and Curtiss Hawk managed to organize a camp of the KBP gate in Providence.  We had me in a Vulture boosting shields, and Curtiss in a hero-rep Scimitar.  Other than that, a few frigs, cruisers, a hictor, a Drake and Bahamut’s Tornado.  I did get to shoot a Celestis as I waited for the rest of the fleet to form up. Well, we...

Susan Black finally joins Faction War, in both... →
In this excellent and thoughtful article, Susan Black discovers for herself the real appeal of Faction Warfare PvP.  In my opinion, she hits the nail on the head here: In small gang, low-sec pvp, and Faction War, there is the complete opposite mentality to this group-think [of null sec combat]. You need…and are expected to have a keen sense of personal creativity. With this creativity...

Never listen to the drunk guy...
So, I hadn’t been in pod for ages.  But I have some time from the planetside duties I’ve found myself swamped with, though I know there aren’t a lot of Amarr around. So, the guys are camping in Huola.  I join them, and for a long while essentially nothing happens. We did catch one pirate Gila, but things were so quiet even stalwart HUANG xia Koshua couldn’t help but...

Eve Inferno Release Announced →
Factional Warfare will also be seeing changes to make it much more relevant and fun by giving real reasons to fight for your faction. Vague promises, but I remain hopeful.  Here’s to more and easier-to-obtain PvP!

More stats from CCP and analysis from Marc Scaurus, once again proving beyond any doubt, if you want to PvP, you should be in low sec!  Which, of course, we who dwell there already knew…

Kill of the Week, and other kill stats...
I haven’t posted any killmails or killmail stats in awhile, but a couple of these caught my eye recently.  One pair in particular are the Mystical Might’s Tengu and pod losses.  Between them that was nearly a 4.25 billion ISK loss.  Ow, that’s gotta smart.  The trolling comments on the KM’s alone along with MM’s excuses are worth the read. In other related news,...

Low Sec is the Fight Club of Eve* →
Low sec has often been disparaged both by the mighty null-sec care-bear alliances and even CCP as ‘PvP lite’ and as a training ground for the ‘real’ PvP of null sec.  However, anyone who actually spends all their time living and fighting in null sec know it’s far more hazardous and exciting than null sec, with more and better fights against skilled pilots. And...

Electus Matari Joins Factional Warfare →
This link goes to Shalee’s excellent Sovereignty Wars blog article. Electus Matari has a very long and close relationship with HUANG.  Some of their internal standards and rituals are even HUANG inspired.  And the last time I was in pod I caught the tail end of an EM roam. Some EM pilots are excellent PvPers… others no so much.  The last fleet I flew with was about 1/3 seasoned vets...

The link goes to fellow faction warrior Drakarn’s excellent blog, as I’m slammed in RL at the moment and I”ve no time for original content.  An excerpt: As announced on Sovereignty Wars here yesterday, or was it day before yesterday in my timezone, Hans Jagerblitzen (Here are his blog and Twitter links) is running for CSM7 on a High-Sec/Low-Sec/Faction War/Piracy manifesto. Year of the Dragon
Today marks the beginning of the 15 day Vherokior new year’s celebration, a custom that is said to date back to the Terra itself. This year is the Year of the Dragon, the most auspicious of all years (a sign I also happen to be born under).  How will I celebrate?  Besides dusting off the ancestral altar, I will be planetside working with clan and servants in the kitchens making Vherokior...

What Makes EvE Real (Blog Banter 32)
A quick view of the Eve Online forums can always find someone complaining about being suicide ganked, whining about some scam they fell for or other such tears. With the Goons’ Ice Interdiction claiming a vast amount of mining ships, there were calls for an “opt out of PvP” option. Should this happen? Should people be able to opt-out of PvP in Eve Online. Should CONCORD...

Council of Stellar Management meeting notes...
The first CSM6 meeting notes have been released, and here’s an excerpt with the discussion on Faction War: CCP has begun some concept work on how they want FW to evolve in the medium-to-long term. Some iterations to FW may be possible as soon as summer 2012. They would like to merge the FW and 0.0 sov system capture mechanics somewhat, but are not happy with either of the current mechanics....

Name the Alliance!
Taking ideas for the alliance composed of the main Late Nite and also affiliated corps.  This should be acceptable to both RPers and non-RPers alike, ideally resolve to a clever acronym for the alliance ticker, and sound cool rather than derpy. Examples: Liberation Alliance of Tribal Elders [LATE] is OK but not perfect; Tribal Revolutionary Latenite Legends [TROLL] is in the spirit but...

Commander Dohl Khrensen's musical tastes...
I was sitting around the HQ hangers poking though corp files when I noticed a music file tagged with Dohl’s name and the note: Go ahead, have a little dance party where ever you are. I popped it into my audio implant and listened to this. Who knew Dohl was into Minmatar funk?

Major Faction War shake-ups ahead...
So, it’s been announced that Alliances will be allowed to participate in Faction Warfare.  Reaction can, at best, be called mixed.  A large number of senior and vocal factional warfare pilots consider this the end of faction warfare.  Others seem to think it will be OK. I’m mixed about it—I think there will be the occasional null-sec behemoth who dabbles and therefore will...

A Final End to an Immortal Enemy: HUANG claims...
Eran Mintor is, or was, a hated enemy of the Minmatar Militia, a turncoat and race-traitor, ex-lover of Shalee Lianne, and a high ranking Amarr militia commander. A xia does not normally resort to assassination, but circumstances were exceptional. Here is Huang warrior Anya Sulii’s report: I, Voshud Major Anya Sulii do hereby claim responsibility for the irreversible death of the traitor...

Anya Sulii receives the Sword of the Liberator...
We senior HUANG officers had debated some time as to how we might recognize one of our newest and active Xia, Anya Sulii, and in particular for her leadership in the all-too-brief liberation of that Amarr stronghold, Huola system. We decided to present her with a corp award and prize.  I was (after 6 years!) granted director-level access to HUANG assets, and paid  (5 million ISK!) to the...

Anya Sulii vs. Kirith Kodachi, rounds 2 and 3...
So my corp mate Anya, so instrumental in the conquest of Huola (sadly, already re-taken by the Amarr, but not for long!) was attacked again by the (in)famous Kirith Kodachi. The first attempt seems suicidal—a Rifter frigate, against the newly vastly improved Thrasher destroyer?  With the expected result. Round Two was destroyer versus destroyer.  Again, Anya prevailed.  Anya’s...

I don’t normally post guides or links to guides, but this one is truly very useful to PvP.  I really had no idea about some of the refinements of overheating, and this will have a direct impact on how I arrange my weapons and other mods in fitting, as I overheat in nearly every fight.

Anya relates the events leading up to the liberation of Huola from the Amarr Empire.  EPIC This is a rough log of how the Huola system fell into the hands of the Minmatar Republic, Voshud Major Anya Sulii transcribing. 2 December 2011 Silence iKillYouu goes on a rampage against Imperial Outlaws, podding one of their more prominent members (Shalee Lianne), killing an Outlaws carrier and...

Anya just seems to attract them...
So, I noticed that immediately after Anya’s fight with Kirith, she lost her ship to a different actively public capsuleer:  Rhavas. The fight summary can be found here. Anya’s report on the fight: Anya Sulii > Well this happened right after I had killed Kirith.  I had warped to the Hof gate in Dal and landed next to a Rupture. Anya Sulii > He yellowboxed me but I wasn’t...

Kirith get schooled by militia →
I haven’t had as much of a chance to fly alongside one of the newer xia dragon warriors of Huang Yinglong, Anya Suliii.  I did have one opportunity the other night in an exchange between an initially oversized Amarr fleet that was overmatched by some re-shipped and reinforced Minmatar, ending in a relatively even exchange. However, glancing at the corp killboard I noticed a very familiar...

Pandemic Legion? Heh...
Pandemic Legion has a reputation around Eve as great fighters.  Among us in militia, they are considered great targets—when we can catch them, and when we aren’t blobbed by their supercarriers. I missed this fight, but two other HUANG pilots were there.  Typical fight with militia vs. PL with roughly even (or even stacked) odds—resulting in the slaughtering of PL pilots.  ...

With the Winter expansion possibly being named ‘Crucible’, it certainly is a melting pot of refinements and tweaks aimed at making the EVE experience smoother and more wholesome.
