Just a T3 sort of Eve-ning…

Made it into pod last night, and it was still slooowwww. Bahamut and Curtiss Hawk managed to organize a camp of the KBP gate in Providence. We had me in a Vulture boosting shields, and Curtiss in a hero-rep Scimitar. Other than that, a few frigs, cruisers, a hictor, a Drake and Bahamut’s Tornado. I did get to shoot a Celestis as I waited for the rest of the fleet to form up.
Well, we stirred the pot well, and when the blob landed they easily had double the ships (but nearly all BCs), three (?!) Scimitars, and a handful of other ships.
LP McDuffs popped the first T1 frig to land, and when the rest of the blob hit they initially had only one scimi, which we primaried. Nearly had it too before the rest of the Scimi’s landed. When their Falcon showed up Bahamut very nearly popped that as well, but then we stood down and tanked all that DPS while we waited for our aggression timers to run down. Thanks to Curtiss + my boosts, all we lost was an Ishkur… our hictor made it out in about 5% hull.
Next time we go we’ll go tanky like that, but keep most of our fleet held back at Choonka gate. Then we’ll get to be the gankers….
After that we poked around looking for targets. I swapped out my Vulture and noted to fleet a neutral Proteus jumping from Auga to Kourm. As I poked around in Sisiede (a Cyno was up and a jump freighter was on scan, along with a Thanny) one of the fleet said the Proteus had agressed him in Huola. I actually made it back in time to barely get on the killmail. That was the first T3 kill of the night.
The second happened as chased a missioning/cloaky war target Drake all the way from Kamela to Dal. Other targets presented themselves in Hofjaldgund, including the well-reviled Jatinegra, as well as some TMFEDs in three Machariels. We really wanted the Machs, and at more than one point nearly had at least one, but they were a bit too speedy and had a lot of alpha.
Jatinegra however was in a Loki, and after chasing him around quite a bit, Transmaritanus (who I freely admit I had blocked up until the time he was in fleet with us) managed a hero tackle in his Vengeance, and we tore Jat a new one (didn’t even lost the Vengeance!) The icing on the cake was Trans managing to grab Jat’s pod, which ended up costing the piratical ex-Amarr nearly a billion ISK. T3 two down, and that was it for the night.
Not bad, I supposed, though I do miss the heydeys when ten kills in a night was considered ordinary.
