The other day while we were waiting for a FWEDDIT re-spawn (after we kill all their ships, it typically takes about 30 minutes for them to all get new ones and return), a Chimaera carrier was reported in militia chat, mining (yes, mining, with mining drones) in a belt in Evati.  In Minmatar space, in the low sec war zone.

Naturally, we all thought this a very clever trap to kill any capitals we dropped on it.

However, as more pilots began calling for assistance in channel, we grudgingly decided we should give it a go.  Initially, no one wanted to burn the dozen odd jumps out to Evati to light the cynosural field, until Galdornae offered 100 million ISK to the first pilot to get there with a cyno ship.  A couple of pilots started burning out there, though I think one (Shah, maybe?) was criminally flagged and his ship was lost to the local authorities.

Also, turned out Evat was too far to make in a single jump from anywhere in the Bleak Lands, so I lit a bridge cyno in Auga and we had the caps from Huola and Kourmonen jump in.  After my cyno spun down I re-docked and called my own carrier crew to battlestation.  Sadly, most of my fighters were still dry-docked in Ossogur waiting to be shipped to Auga, so I had to make do with only two Einherji pilots and the rest in unmanned drones.

Eventually our cyno pilot arrived on the scene and reported that there was indeed a solitary carrier in belt, currently being engaged by a light group of TLF militia ships.  He lit the cyno field and we jumped.

Unfortunately, the pilot was new at this and positioned himself far to close to several large asteroids.  The resulting safety offsets sent our dreads tumbling far, far off the target drop site—in fact, one never even made back into gun range for the duration of the engagement.

My own ship was right on target, however, and I had my fighter and drones launch.  The pilot was indeed Caldari, a member of Caldari Provisions, considered an enemy organization for its support of the Caldari war effort.

At this point, when the enemy had already lost all shields and was nearly in half armor, my old corp CEO and currrent HUANG pilot Ma Zhiqiang joined fleet and jumped into system in the corp Nagalfar dreadnaught.  He launched two volleys of Citadel Torpedoes, which annihilated the enemy carrier.

This is certainly the worst fitting I’ve ever seen, considering this is a capital ship.  How a pilot like this guy could even be allowed to fly this ship is beyond me.  Apparently, this wasn’t even an isolated incident.

Well, at least he had a few more mods fitted this time.
